Creating a new public woodland at Wetherby Ings, Wetherby

A new woodland will be created in Wetherby to cover 2 hectares and include 2,500 native trees including oak, birch, hazel, holly and field maple. The site is immediately adjacent to Wetherby Leisure Centre and will add a valuable natural leisure area to compliment the sports facilities. The trees will be spaced to enable the public to walk through the woodland, and access gates (including a disabled access gate) will be installed to enable public entry while preventing unauthorised vehicle access. The scheme includes volunteer planting.
