Creating an Environmental Education Centre for Berkshire

In December 2010 BBOWT signed a 99 year lease for Woolley Firs, a small family farming estate two miles from Maidenhead. This enabled us to fulfil a vision, to transform the estate’s derelict Grade 11 listed stable block into an Environmental Education Centre. An outdoor classroom consisting of a pond, orchard, tree trail and a chalk grassland bank will also be established to bring indoor learning alive. In addition to inspiring children who visit the Education Centre, Woolley Firs will also provide local people with a valuable community resource.

Amendment: Also now to include the refurbishment of the toilet block.
