Creating Bat Haven at Himley

A group of bat experts and enthusiasts from several conservation volunteer groups in the area have identified Himley Plantation as a valuable habitat for bats. This project will involve volunteers to work together to install 160 boxes across the 27.78ha Himley Plantation site to create more opportunities for bat roosting. The project also anticipates the discovery of new and rare species - the boxes will give the group an opportunity to examine rare species and make formal scientific identifications.
