Creating Inclusivity Through Female Changing Facilities, Weston Super Mare Cricket Club

The project is the purchase and installation of female changing facilities. The club will install female only changing facilities to ensure facilities are fully inclusive for females. Currently there is no female only changing space. This excludes/discourages females from sporting and social participation opportunities. There has been a 400% increase in female participation over the last three years, yet the club cannot currently accommodate their needs safely/appropriately without private changing facilities (creating safeguarding concerns and jeopardising female participation, which is an already underrepresented sporting group according to Sport England’s research – particularly in deprived communities like the one served). The club hosts various female groups for sporting and social activities, however they are currently forced to change in their cars, toilets etc. This is unacceptable. The club wants to rectify this imbalance through this project.
