Creation of the Chevin Community Centre – Otley

The project will extend and redevelop the existing Scout building to create a modern, community centre facility to include:
• 3 new multi-functional community meeting rooms;
• Indoor toilet facilities;
• Improved kitchen facilities that can double as a craft area;
• Larger storage areas;
• Improved access for disabled users.
The redeveloped building will be capable of hosting more than one group at once. The project aims to increase use of the building by community groups and encourage local residents to engage in a range of community activities. It will also provide a community facility to an area of Otley which currently has none.
The grant is specifically for the building fixtures and fittings and not the building works involved with creating the extension.
