Creative Suite at Portland Centre

We will refurbish an area of Portland Centre which will become a Creative Suite for local people to use. We will create a modern, attractive and accessible area that can be used by anyone who would like to improve their creative skills. We would build a CS to bring more people into PC. The provision will include music, photography and video-making. These creative processes will help people with key skills: social and confidence and improve social inclusion. The CS will link into the dance and exercise studios at PLC, encouraging people to become more active, benefitting their health and wellbeing. From our consultation, we learnt we could increase demand at PC by increasing the range of activities available. People expressed their interest in having access to creative facilities, which we will develop. The CS would be available to all age groups at different times to maximise usage and fill capacity. As we develop PC, we will engage a wide section of the community through our range of activities.
