Creswell Crags – Enhancing Amenity Value

Promotion and implementation of an enhanced programme of public events and activities at Creswell Crags Environmental and Archaeological Park, an important public amenity and archaeological site of world significance. The profile of the site and its potential as a public amenity has recently been raised by the discovery of 12,000 year old rock art engravings of ice age animals on the roof of Church Hole Cave. The programme will run for 3 years and include (1) a themed programme of events & activities to attract visitors & help them explore and understand the site, (2) an annual summer festival & (3) installation of a viewing platform in Church Hole Cave to enable visitors to see the rock art through a programme of guided tours
