Crichton Memorial Church

The category ‘A’ listed church is the most physically important building on the outstanding conservation area Crichton estate, Dumfries, through its scale, central location and quality of its architecture. Regularly used for small services, and periodically used for weddings, graduations and other events, the church now requires major changes in order to play its full part in the community, and thereby maximise revenues to ensure a sustainable future for the building. The church has separately accessed crypt and undercroft which may have the potential to provide a considerable amount of additional accommodation. A feasibility study is therefore required to investigate the technically and aesthetically acceptable options for securing the future of the church.
