Kimbolton Cricket nets

To install all-weather community sporting facilities (cricket nets), enhancing opportunities in our rural location.
The facility, which will cover a footprint of 33.20m x 7.42m, will provide year-round training space for children and adults in Kimbolton and surrounding villages. With no usable all-weather facilities available locally, this project will fill a vital gap in local community sporting facilities and increase opportunities for physical activity and social connection throughout the year for over 3000 local residents that rely on our facilities. This new facility will enhance player development, reduce weather-related disruptions, and support the club's thriving junior section. It also allows continued expansion of inclusive cricket programmes for girls, new players, and neighbouring rural communities who currently lack access to such facilities.
The project need was identified through constant complaints of lack of all-weather facilities from users and the local community (approximately 30 parents petitioned for this in 2025). The lack of all-weather facilities result in excessive amounts of cancelled sessions for our community users. Some parents have taken their children to other clubs, driving for miles to find suitable facilities. As a rural community, there are poor public transport links, which means that some children, families and adults just give up participation altogether after becoming disengaged with taking part due to large amounts of cancelled sessions.
We have strong links with Kimbolton Primary Academy, who will be offered use of the new all weather facilities for their pupils (for both curricular and extra-curricular activities).
The use of recycled materials ensures environmental sustainability is carefully considered and implemented, reducing the projects carbon footprint, whilst also providing an outstanding, high quality finish.
