Crookilley Community Wood

A new residents' group has been formed, who through consultation have identified a programme of works to involve the community in improving their local greenspace. Work is needed to upgrade paths, develop and enhance biodiversity through the removal of non-native species, plant native woodland bulbs, install bird and bat boxes, and erect signage. The aims of this project are: To improve accessibility to the site, including disabled access; To enhance biodiversity, and develop a sustainable management plan; To maintain and protect an area of ancient woodland; To foster a sense of pride and ownership in the site through community involvement.
