Cross Hill Quarry LNR Improvement Project

Cross Hill Local Nature Reserve is situated close to the centre of Clitheroe. The site was a former limestone quarry. The site is well used by the local public and parts of it have become worn and damaged.The intention is to upgrade the main paths running through the reserve to give improved access. To replace all of the interpretative signs. To design and install new gateway features at all of the main entrances with the new signs positioned adjacent. To instigate a volunteer training project involving path and step construction. The works will all serve to encourage more people to use the site and increase their enjoyment
