Cuerden Valley Meadow & Path

To create an accessible footpath network by providing a new route between the visitor hub and the River walk; to encourage biodiversity and support national efforts to restore wildflower meadow habitats by taking a field out of farm tenancy and creating a meadow; to educate visitors to the importance of meadow habitats for pollinators and insects with interpretation materials; addressing flood alleviation and slowing the flow into the River Lostock by installing a new pond and drainage; to encourage exploration of the countryside by installing new waymarked trails.
