Cumbria Meadow Restoration Programme

The Cumbria Meadow Restoration Programme will restore 28.46 ha of upland hay meadows at a total of 8 sites throughout the core areas for this habitat in the north of England, the Orton Fells, Cumbria High Fells and South Cumbria Low Fells Joint Character Areas’s. In doing so this project will address the dramatic loss of hay meadow resource uncovered by the Hay Day Project. This project will also provide follow up to previous year’s restoration as well as investigating sites for future restoration beyond 2012.
