Cuxton Social Club Ltd, Kent – Pitch Improvements (006368)

The project is a total refurbishment of the community playing field. The current state of the playing field is very poor, the surface is uneven with a poor soil structure and no drainage.Currently the field slopes steeply particularly in one corner. Due to safety reasons, the field in its current state is not open to the public and cannot be used for recreational or competitive sports opportunities.

The main concern is that their is a real danger of the field being lost as a community asset altogether. Under the proposed works the field would be flattened out, the soil renewed and drainage provided producing a 1st class grass playing surface.

The applicants are working with Cuxton Parish Council and have in place a maintenance provision and schedule to keep the playing facility in top condition in perpetuity.

The field would be once again opened up for recreational sporting activity, along with community events and competitive sports games.
