DA Grantham SSSi Improvements

The project seeks to reverse the decline of the SSSi by increasing the number of submerged species located on the Grantham Canal west of the village of Redmile. The project will dredge the canal which will reduce the amount of collected silt which currently creates problems such as smothering submerged aquatic plants as it reduced water depth and bed stability. Grass-wrack pondweed will be relocated to the site post dredging.
