Daisy Dip Environmental Improvements

Daisy Dip is a large public open space in the north of Southampton. It is irregularly used by local community with some evidence of antisocial behaviour. Based on the findings of consultations, proposals were drawn up to improve: Learning about local nature – by implementation of a Nature Trail through the park (in connection with adjacent area, Bassett Woods) to highlight the existing values of natural environment and new interpretation boards on habitats and associated management techniques, Existing facilities and safety – by redesigning a bridge to be more attractive and safe, and by replacing an old fence around a play area The park’s profile – by erecting new signs, notice boards and by improving existing entrances with bespoke signage and identity posts Proposals will benefit community groups as local residents, young people, and local schools.
