Dalkeith Burns Monument

The proposed project involves the restoration and relocation of the Burns Monument. The Burns Monument is a historic cast iron water fountain paid for by the people of Dalkeith and installed in 1899. Until the 1960’s the fountain was located in High Street when it was moved to a local park. In 2003 it was moved from the park to Buccleuch Street, Dalkeith. In 2013 members of the public launched a campaign to restore and relocate the Burns Monument back to High Street.
