Dalmuir Community Allotments Phase 2

The main aim of the poject is to totally transform the allotments into an innovative, modern, sustainable resource at the centre of the community. This will create a broad range of opportunities by utilising a valued green space, which encourages healthy and active lifestyles; improving local biodiversity whilst raising awareness of environmental issues at the same time. Dalmuir is a much built up area consisting of mainly tenement buildings and high rise property, with approximately 95% of the community having no garden or personal greenspace to enjoy. The only greenspace left in Dalmuir other than the allotments is the local public park. The park consists of a children’s play area, duck pond and very formal planting
