Dalton Old Parish Church

Dalton Old Parish Church is unstable, unsafe and consequently closed to the public for many years. The project aims to consolidate the ruin, thereby making the building accessible to the public again. The church dates from around 1704 and sits on top of an earlier structure, some of whose remnants are still visible. The project incorporates training for local masons on traditional building techniques and interpretation to illustrate the importance of the building historically and culturally. All work will be carried out to standards set by Historic Scotland, who are also funding the works.
