Dam Wood Ecological Improvements (Part Two)

Part one of this project has created a much needed pleasant and safe area within Sherdley Park by Removal of rhododendron and replanting with native species trees in an area of the park, renovating much of the footpaths and renewing safety features, bridges and boardwalks has allowed new planting to be sustained and not trodden, allowing a new inviting native woodland to thrive. with the addition of a new dipping platform, the park now has an educational resource that can be used
Installation of one of the two planned dipping platforms has allowed the wet areas to be used as an educational resource.
Due to Covid 19, the project was put on hold as it was being delivered by TCV lead volunteers. We have been asked to reapply to Entrust to allow for the project to carry on.
There are still some foopaths to refurbish and complete as well as another dipping platform to construct and a little more rhododendron to remove to finish the original project.
