Dame Emily Park, Bristol – Dean Lane Skatepark Improvements (007058)

This project aims to resurface a disused wasteland that is located next to Dean Lane Skatepark. The project will unlock the potential of this space by adding some small skate friendly architecture that will cater for wheeled riders (skateboarders/scooters/BMXers) of all ages. The current skatepark next to the recommended site is over 40 years old and built on a hill making it more suited for experienced riders. The proposed space for this project is on flat ground and would provide the perfect training facility for younger riders and beginners to build their confidence before graduating to the bigger park. The space is open 24/7 and already has floodlights. It will also give parents somewhere to watch and aid their kids as they progress. Bristol has a distinct lack of flat available space in the city centre despite its flourishing skate scene.
