Danes Moss Access and Habitat Improvements

This project will allow public access for the first time to a newly purchased section of Danes Moss Nature reserve: creating a new way marked route with view points, interpretation boards and an attractive canal-side picnic area. It will also improve access in the pre-existing nature reserve creating a new board walk through muddy sections of the visitor route. It will also help to preserve and enhance the SSSI lowland raised bog habitat on the site; controlling invasive species and spreading Bog Myrtle a red list endangered species currently present in only a small corner of the south east of the site.
