Projects / Darlington Meadows

Darlington Meadows

The aim of the project is to create a series of lowland meadows across the town of Darlington in order to enhance the biological diversity of the urban area and engage local people in nature conservation. The meadows, a priority BAP habitat in their own right, will be created on Council owned green space, in both parks and amenity grassland adjacent to housing areas. In total the project will deliver 6.37 ha of lowland meadow creation, providing a significant additional habitat resource for a wide range of wildlife, including bees and butterflies.
