Darnford Moors Ecology Park

LHCRT owns 2ha of land comprising the area suitable for a Habitat Improvement Project. Darnford Brook flows for 500m on the north side of a dry canal, opened in 1797 but disused since 1954. Environment Agency licences permit extraction of water from outside the project area to fill the restored channel for habitat population, attracting water voles.

This forms the second part of a new Habitats Improvement Project in association with joint funding of £103,000 secured for the first part from ERDF and HS2 CEF to extend the environmental benefit freely open to the public at all times.
