David Livingstone Centre – Restoration of Shuttle Row Ticket Booth (Grade A Listed)

The David Livingstone Centre in Blantyre has existed as a Musuem and Memorial Park dedicated to the memory of Dr David Livingstone, since 1929. The turnstile and Ticket Booth formed part of the main entrance to the musuem at that time. The creation of a car park in the 1990s has amde the ticket booth entry point redundant and its condition has gradually deteriorated. In 1971 the entire structure was Grade A listed, and this project will provide the funding to enable restoration work to take place. This will mean that the Ticket Booth can be presented to the public as originally intended.
