Dawdon Park Restoration

Seaham Town Council has been working on the regeneration of Dawdon Park for some years and has produced a restoration masterplan in discussion witih the Park User Groups. As part of the masterplan the Park has been divided into two character areas. Hazel Dene a heavily wooded coastal dene. The formal Park dominated by sports facilities.

The Town Council intend to pursue the regeneration of Hazel Dene as a catalyst towards the broader regeneration of the Park.

It is intended to carry out extensive woodland management works towards the establishment of the Dene as a County Site and offer improved access, opening the site to the Community. It is hoped that this will encourage use, and a greater regard for othe Dene leading onto further phases of work.
