Dene Park Wood, Tonbridge – Ponds and Wetland Creation (1676/DA)

The project is at Dene Park a Forestry Commission owned site of some 90Ha comprising mixed deciduous and coniferous woodland north of Tonbridge. MVCP is working with the FC to make full use of the significant conservation potential of this site. It is already a very valuable wildlife habitat but this can be further enhanced especially by expanding the areas of ponds, wetland and wet woodland habitat. This will be achieved through significant use of local volunteer groups and young people currently outside of recognised training and employment. This would allow development of life and practical countryside skills as well as ecological surveying.
