Denham Lock Wood Boardwalk

Denham Lock Wood is managed by London Wildlife Trust and a designated Site of Special Scientific Interest (SSSI) in North Uxbridge. A boardwalk is located beside the gentle Frays River which meanders through Denham Lock Wood. The boardwalk needs urgent replacing because the weather in recent years has taken its toll. The Trust have regularly made repairs to keep the boardwalk safe, however, it has become dangerous and beyond repairable, so is currently closed. LWT intend to use recycled plastic wood-substitute for the replacement which won’t rot. The Environment Agency consider this a low-carbon product, as it is otherwise a waste material.
