Dereliction to a Dream

Wirral Council have leased to the club a 10,000sq ft sports facility within 2 acres of land for development on a 99yr peppercorn rent through its Community Asset Programme. A ‘licence to lease’ agreement has been signed, This will allow the club to rebuild ,refurbish sports hall when the full Guaranteed lease will be signed The building is currently semi-derelict and is in need of total refurbishment and re-development to make it fit for purpose. Its size and position make it ideal for use as a sports and community building and the club is excited about the opportunity to develop a neglected resource as a vibrant, flagship centre for sport and community activities. It will enable gymnastics to have a dedicated, permanent home on the Wirral and for the sport and local community to grow together. This Biffa award will enable this project to complete the facility and create a sustainable local community sports project. Please see sheet.
