Derrygonnelly Community and Wellbeing Hub

This proposal is to complete the gym to enable usage by the wider community, providing disability access and complete the surrounding carpark area ensuring it is safe and aesthetically pleasing, and welcoming to the whole community. 1.Add suitable equipment for public use in our main floor area. 2.Install a heating /air conditioning system to control the temperature in the gym area (This is a requirement for a facility to be available to the public.) 3.Install a ventilation system to keep a constant flow of fresh air in the gym (Again opening the facility to the public will increase usage and this will be a requirement.) 4. Provide accessible toilet facilities in the gym This project will create opportunities and help to build a strong and shared community by increasing participation in sport and physical recreation, promoting inclusion, addressing social deprivation, whilst addressing the actions relating to climate change. To support improving the health and wellbeing of the local community through increased involvement in physical activity, sport and community engagement. Ensure the newly developed Health and Wellbeing hub is complete and fully operational. A 5% increase in participation in physical activity by individuals from currently under-represented groups. Encourage the local community to participate in the gym and increase users year on year to improve the health and well being of the local community. To create a facility which has minimum carbon impact by utilising electricity generation potential. To ensure the future of the facility with a financially sustainable model to facilitate low running costs and provide a range of low cost and free indoor and outdoor facilities.
