Developing the De Grey Rooms

This project will develop the 19th century De Grey Rooms into a flexible, multi-purpose space that all members of the community can access and enjoy. We need to make the Workshop Rooms fit for purpose by replacing the damaged and inappropriate flooring with semi-sprung, permanent, sealed flooring that is suitable for all activities. In the Ballroom and Cocktail Bar we need to improve acoustics and lighting. The University of York recommend fitting curtains and fabric panels and installing a sound system to improve the acoustics. We will create flexible lighting, suitable for a wide range of community activities, by installing a dim-out system and professional lighting.
