Devil’s Pulpit

To conserve a section of Offa’s Dyke scheduled monument at the Devil’s Pulpit viewpoint, close to Tidenham, Gloucestershire, overlooking Tintern Abbey in the Wye Valley Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB).
The works will involve surfacing the heavily eroded footpath (part of the Offa’s Dyke National Trail), creating a viewing platform at Devil’s Pulpit, replacing stiles with kissing gates, improving steps and providing additional waymarking and signage. The project will therefore improve access to an open space used for recreational purposes as it is a popular site for both local residents and visitors to enjoy the iconic view of the Abbey below.
