Dewsbury – Crow Nest Park

The project aims to renovate and replace old play equipment.
The design prioritizes inclusivity across various dimensions, encompassing mental health, physical disability, race, gender, and age. The inclusive play equipment features multiple accessible elements, including diverse access routes, back support, wheelchair access, group access, supported climbing routes, ground-level play, music play, supported swing seats, low access equipment, slopes, and low climbing mounds. Fixed accessible surfacing will ensure year-round accessibility and accommodate different mobilities.
Steel equipment will be used with a 25-year guarantee.
The safety surfacing will be made of recycled tyres, that is longer lasting and requires less maintenance.
The applicants will be re-using and refurbishing materials and existing equipment where possible.
Rubber mulch is water permeable so it will help increase water absorption on site and will not increase localised flooding.
