Dipping Platform Access and Planting

A dipping platform and pond area has been created at the end of the burn in the Arboretum part of Wallsend Parks. The pond and dippng platform sit at the bottom of a natural “bowl” which has been become greatly overgrown. Access to the dipping platform does not provide a safe and accessible entry to the site.

The project will level and widen the access path and cover with a whinstone grit (work to be effected by the staff from nearby Rising Sun Country Park who have both the necessary expertise and machinery)
Marginal planting to pond edges, incuding Iris pseudocorus – Yellow Flag – which is the logo of the Friends Group. Planting of the lower levels of the natural bowl and access path edges. Weed clearance to be effected by Park Staff.
