Dock Park Regeneration Project – Horticultural Activities

Dumfries and Galloway Council is in the process of applying to the Heritage Lottery Fund as part of the Parks for People Grant Scheme. It is seeking money from the Landfill Communities Fund to achive the environmental objectives of the project including a tree replacement scheme and small community projects (bird boxes and bulb planting) which it is intended to carry out with local schools and community groups.
The project aims to:
1. improve the physical quality of the park and its user experience;
2. Increase public use and active participation through partnership working and events and activities;
3. Improve the management and use of the park;
4. Engender a new concept in life long learning using the park;
5. Draw upon and interpret the rich history and heritage of Dumfries.
