Doncaster – Parson’s Carr Nature Reserve – Grazing a Trail

Through this project, we will purchase highland cattle and install fencing and associated infrastructure to enable
conservation grazing at Parson’s Carr Nature Reserve, Doncaster.

The proposed project activity will predominantly have environmental benefits, however will also have secondary benefits for the local community. It will enable us to manage the grassland habitat at the site in order to create the right conditions for wildflowers to grow and to encourage greater biodiversity. Positive environmental outcomes will have a knock-on effect on community outcomes, leading to a thriving nature reserve that will be an attractive space for the local community to visit. The site will become a treasured amenity offering attractive opportunities for recreational use, including nature walks, wellbeing and a car-free
cycle/commuter route connecting the villages of Wadworth and Loversall.
