Donnington Hub, Shropshire – New Heating System and Improvements

The project aims to improve the ageing building and make it more attractive for the community, to save money on repair and maintenance for the charity having taken on the building from the local authority. The changes will also enable improvements to the rooms to enable more bookings and make the venue more suitable for the local community improving the facilities on offer. The income generation and reduce maintenance costs will make the building more sustainable for the future and keep the community centre open in one of the most challenging wards in Telford & Wrekin. The centre offers support for employment, events and activities for young and old with its own volunteer led youth club. It also hosts groups such as mums/ carers, toddler stay and play and a dementia café. Donnington is just outside one of the most 10% of deprived wards in the UK. The project aims to improve the community centre and make it more appealing to the local community.
