Dormouse BAP Delivery Project

This project will support the delivery of Devon’s Biodiversity Action Plan for the hazel dormouse. LCF funds will be used to carry out woodland thinning and coppicing to provide more food and shelter for dormice; purchase, installation and monitoring of dormouse nest boxes and nest tubes; and co-ordination of a public survey to find new dormouse populations so that these can also be protected.

Habitat management will be carried out at 4 Devon Wildlife Trust nature reserves, each within 10 miles of an eligible landfill site. Public survey work (and subsequent habitat conservation) will take place across the county but always within 10 miles of eligible landfills.
