Down Ampney Community Garden

Down Ampney has a population of approx 560. Our 2008 Parish Plan highlighted a need for an area of land villagers could cultivate. Our Parish Plan highlighted that within 10 years more than 50% of the population will be over 60. We anticipate there will be a good mix of ages (playgroup and primary children to pensioners) which will have beneficial outcomes such as the older generation passing on their knowledge and skills to younger people and younger villagers assisting and respecting the older generation. It is envisaged that excess produce can to donated and sold in Community run Shop. The Community Garden will be a valued addition to the Community Hub.
