Downs Leisure Centre - Replacement All Weather Pitch

The existing All Weather Pitch is now beyond its economic life and needs urgent replacement. It is the only public funded All Weather Pitch in the Lewes District. It will sustain play and practice of Football within the District of Lewes and enable a comprehensive Football Development Plan to be implemented. Help to reduce obesity and increase levels of participation, fitness, health and well being in the community. Provide diversionary activities in conjunction with Youth Agencies to prevent anti social behaviour such as graffiti and vandalism which have a detrimental effect on the local environment. Increase participation by women and girls and people with disabilities. Provide local schools with an all year round facility for both curriculum and after school use.
