Doxey Marshes – A Wetland Oasis in the Heart of Stafford

This project will significantly improve the public amenity value of Dixey Marshes nature reserve which is located adjacent to Stafford town centre.

The project is based on extensive public consultation. We plan to:

* Improve/introduce signage at the main entranceways to encourage and welcome new visitors.
* Improve/introduce directional signage and interpretation (cultural/wildlife etc). across the site to help visitors learn about the site.
* Repair and upgrade footpaths to improve accessibility.
* Introduce trail marked walking routes for all abilities.
Replace/refurbish the existing worn out hide to create a family friendly structure to attract new visitors to the site.
* Build a new bird hide designed for use by birdwatchers.
