Draycott Playing Fields, Draycott – New Playground Equipment and Refurbishment (008124)

The aims of the project is to provide new inclusive and accessible outdoor children’s play area equipment for children of all ages and abilities at Draycott Play Area. The existing play area has some play equipment that is over twenty years old and whilst it has passed the ROSPA annual play inspection, the report identifies that a number of pieces of equipment no longer conform to current play standards / have heavy amount of rust / are getting to their end of use. Currently, pushchair / poor mobility / wheelchair users struggle to access this section of the play area due to the surface being playbark. In addition there is only one inclusive play item available to use. By installing more inclusive play items, a tarmac surface with thermoplastic designs will enable all members of the community to use the play area and truly enable all children to play together with modern play equipment. The project is in partnership with Draycott Primary School, the PTA and the residents of Draycott and wider community. These partners will be involved in all aspects of the project.
