Dudley Canal no.2, Birmingham- Boat turning area (006467)

This project is part of a long-term plan to restore the missing 5 ½ mile link of the 12 mile Dudley No 2 canal opened in 1798 and which provided a southern bypass to Birmingham. The restoration will create a new ring around Birmingham for users of the canal and tow path. The restored canal link will help to transform this neglected part of Birmingham.
LCF funds will contribute to the creation of a winding hole, a widening of the canal enabling boats to turn and creating space for community activities to take place.
