Dumfries to Mabie Cycle Path

To deliver a key action from ‘Open Outdoors: The Dumfries and Galloway Outdoor Access Strategy (2012-2017)’. To provide a safe off-road route for accessing one of the region’s key visitor attractions. To allow mountain biking visitors to arrive via train (Glasgow and North England) and safely ride to the 7Stanes Trail Centre. Compliment planned improvements to Dock Park, Dumfries, which will become a gateway linking an internationally renowned 7Stanes Trail Centre and the rest of the Solway Coast to Dumfries. Contribute to the ambitions set out in the Joint Health and Wellbeing Unit Action Plan in terms of supporting opportunities for active and sustainable travel. Deliver positive health and wellbeing benefits for both local communities and visitors to our the region. Empower communities to develop a sense of responsibility for the path through volunteering and maintenance.
