Dunanney Lane Visitor Enhancement ProjectCar

Carnmoney Hill is a 203 acre with ancient woodland, ponds, grazed fields and meadows overlooking Belfast and near to the large housing estate of Rathcoole. It currently suffers from antisocial behaviour and this along with uneven pathways acts as a deterrent fro community groups and users to make best use of the site. The proposed project will improve access by providing and creating an inviting welcome at the Dunanney Lane entrance to the site, parking bays, a kissing gate, resurfacing and improved drainage to 1km of pathway and the installation of new seats, benches and perches. The project will also create a wildflower area, restore 1km of banks, walls and hedgerows. Local school children and adult volunteers will assist the development of the project where possible.
