The aim is to safeguard the harbour for the users (RNLI,commercial fishermen,sailing club,leisure craft,and fishermen) and general public who regularly use the wall to view the harbour,take in its history and the kittiwake colony.Public events also take place regularly in the harbour( eg skiff race,RNLI fete, fishing competition,arts and nature etc)
The work involves repairs to significant undermining voids of the outer face of the wall over a length of 40m and penetrating under the wall up to 2m.This wall faces the North Sea and is the primary line of defence for the overall harbour
