Projects / Duxford Land Acquisition

Duxford Land Acquisition

This project aims to acquire roughly 47 hectares of lowland meadow alongside the River Thames at Duxford, Oxfordshire. The plot in question supports priority species, such as curlew, and is adjacent to Chimney Meadows, BBOWT’s largest nature reserve, making it strategically important from an ecological point of view. Acquiring this land would contribute to over 300 hectares of continuous habitat, protected and managed for the benefit of wildlife on both sides of the River Thames. It will enable landscape scale conservation. The site is also open to the public, providing communities with an impressive and valuable greenspace for their benefit and enjoyment.
