Dyce Central Park: Amenity Improvements

Dyce Central Park is a large park dominated by short mown grass. It has a small children’s play area with the rest of the area being used as school playing fields and for informal recreation in particular dog walking. The area is crossed by the local community to gain access to the two schools and the supermarket.
The proposals are to create 450 metres of tarmacadam paths which will promote year round all ability access and native tree planting to incease the amenity and biodiversity value of the area.
Aberdeen City Council has already spent £48,000 upgrading the play equipment and providing a kick about area in the park.
The tree planting will be carried out with the local community. The design and path layout has been approved by Dyce Neighbourhood Network (a group made up of the police, city and community councillors other interested groups and individuals). Dyce Community Council is supportive of the project.
