Eaglais na h-Aoidhe

Eaglais na h-Aoidhe is Scheduled Ancient Monument and a Grade A Listed medieval church in an ancient graveyard, dedicated to St Columba. It has recently been consolidated, stabilised and re-opened to the public. However the severe storms of winter 2013/14 have breached the sea wall and the church and graveyard are at risk from encroachment by the sea. Some limited sheet piling was done in 2006, but the sea has damaged the sea wall further along and additional piling is required to reinforce the old piling and to mitigate damage to the church wall and prevent the ground under the building from being washed away.
