Eagle Hall, Essex – Additional meeting space (006468)

Eagle Hall, the 1st Warley Scouts HQ, was destroyed by fire on 25th August 2015 with the total loss of the building and its contents. A young person was bailed 3 times but the CPS dropped the case for arson as Brentwood police didn’t have the resources to secure the crime scene.

While we have received a full insurance payment to replace the contents and to reinstate the hall, we would like to upgrade our new Scout HQ in line with the increased numbers of young people that now use our resources (1st Warley Scout Group has doubled in size since our HQ was originally conceived and built in 1993).

We are also planning to add a new mezzanine floor housing an 86 square metre open plan room, storage rooms and a lift to deliver;

1) a quiet area / craft room which will allow us to host more varied scouting meetings.
2) a much needed training hub for Scout Leaders and young people across Essex.
3) a community meeting room with storage facilities for local groups to hire at a low cost.
